Amid rumors of the imminent departure of its Creative Director Rodolfo Paglialunga, Jil Sander is facing an uncertain future with sales declining by 15% to 103 million euros. The brand has closed 20 mono-brand stores this year (out of a total of 100).
Jil Sander which is owned by Japanese group Onward is undergoing a drastic plan for retail optimization. As stated by the Annual Onward Holding reports, in 2015 the flagship stores have dropped to 80, compared to 100 active in 2014. Even the turnovers are down: Jil Sander had closed 2014 with a turnover of 13.5 billion yen (about 119 million euro), while last year it only reached 11.7 billion yen, equivalent to EUR 103 million.
