Philipp Plein will leave the Milanese runways, where it debuted in 2009, quickly making a name for itself thanks to its highly spectacular shows, and set off to conquer the US market.
Philipp Plein is planning to show at the New York womenswear fashion week from next February. It will do so with a mixed show, another novelty, for the first time presenting the men’s and women’s collections together. The brand is not abandoning Milan, however. It has recently opened there its new, 3,000 m2 headquarters featuring an enormous showroom.
But it wants to turbocharge its US operations. For this purpose, earlier in the year it appointed Graziano de Boni, a former manager at Armani, as head of its US subsidiary.
For the time being, the USA are a small market for Philipp Plein, with stores only in New York, Miami and Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, and a very recent opening in Atlanta. More store openings are on the cards though, with Philadelphia coming soon.
