CUNARD company has not run tours to Alaska in more than 20 years, but it will begin traveling to the U.S. state again in 2019. For its resumed service to Alaska, Cunard is partnering with rail operator Rocky Mountaineer, allowing guests to extend their journey with a train excursion.
Rocky Mountaineer operates a fleet of domed trains, affording passengers views of the mountainous terrain and wildlife along its routes. Among the sights are the snow-topped Canadian Rockies, river canyons and mountain passes.
Along with the visual experience, the train line features on-board services such as fine cuisine. Consumers who book a Cunard cruise to Alaska can add a Rocky Mountaineer trip either before or after their boat journey. The train tour includes three to five nights’ accommodation and two days on the train.
“As we return to Alaska for the first time in 20 years, we are excited to partner with the Rocky Mountaineer, ensuring our passengers enjoy the remarkable scenery and Alaskan wildlife in the utmost of luxury both by land and by sea,” said Josh Leibowitz, senior vice president of Cunard North America, in a statement.
