Avani Hotels & Resorts has acquired a property in the northern Laos town of Luang Prabang. Built within the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the intimate 53-room hotel is located in a valley surrounded by mountains on a narrow peninsula at the meeting of the Nam Khan River and majestic Mekong River. The property dates back to 1914 and the architectural design is French neo-classical, built in the style of the grand villas found in Luang Prabang. The hotel will be fully rebranded by March.
