When it comes to authentic Goan food, thereandrsquo;s Bhatti Village Family Bar and Restaurant in North Goa and Martinandrsquo;s Corner noted for its consistency over the years and specialities like Crab Xec Xec. No visit to Kolkata is complete without a trip to Mocambo and Peter Cat and Bohemian. Internationally, Ministry of Crab in Sri Lanka is amazing andnbsp;while in Sydney, I love Chef Matt Moranandrsquo;s two restaurants, Aria and Opera Bar that serve great drinks and bar eats.andnbsp;/p pandnbsp;/p pspan style="font-weight: bold;"Canandrsquo;t live withoutandnbsp;/span/p pIf I had to pick a dish that Iandrsquo;d take a flight just to eat, it has to be the Sri Lankan black pepper crab at Ministry of Crab by Chef Dharshan Munidasa.andnbsp;/p pandnbsp;/p pstrongTop of the lotandnbsp;/strong/p pIf you ask me why these make it to my list, itandrsquo;s because of three simple ingredientsandmdash; consistency, unique flavours and the balance in menus. From buzzing ambience to recipes, great ingredients and cooking techniquesandmdash;the above list has a unique mix of it all./p pandnbsp;/p pstrongVineet Bhatia, Celebrity chef, The Oberoi, Mumbaiandnbsp;/strong/p pandnbsp;/p pstrongEat Good, Feel goodandnbsp;/strong/p pIndia is a great melting pot of cuisines that offers distinct flavours in every region and for every palette. When in Chennai, I love the fluffy idlis from Murugan Idli; their spicy podiis just fantastic and soul satisfying. They even do a unique dried pudina/mint powder! In Mumbai, I love the dim sums, especially the spinach and the crispy kernel ones at India Jones at Trident. In Delhi, the delicious shammi kebabsat Dilli Darbar or the street food at Chandni Chowk, the aloo tikkis with tamarind chutney, are simply irresistible. And where else can one dig into the sumptous Tundey kebabsthan Lucknow? Not to forget Prakash Kulfi, which offers the most delectable kulfis that have a salty aftertaste, almost like salted caramel.andnbsp;/p pandnbsp;/p pstrongCanandrsquo;t live withoutandnbsp;/strong/p pI simply love a bowl of ramen, so itandrsquo;s Kyoto and Tokyo for their ramen houses! Also, Royce chocolates from Japan are just sinful. In St Moritz, Chesa Veglia at Badruttandrsquo;s Palace Hotel, is a 16th century barn, where I have relished an outstanding blue cheese, truffle and lobster pizza in sub-zero temperature! In Dubai, Raju Omlet, a chain of restaurants that serves fantastic eggs with cutting chai is another favourite. For seafood, thereandrsquo;s nothing better than LUX* Belle Mare in Mauritius for Mediterranean cuisine by the sea.andnbsp;/p pandnbsp;/p pstrongTop of the lotandnbsp;/strong/p pMy experiences at these restaurants has been consistently wonderful which make them truly iconic dishes./p pandnbsp;/p p style="text-align: center;"andnbsp;/p p style="text-align: center;"/p pandnbsp;/p pandnbsp;/p pandnbsp;/p pstrongAtul Kochhar, Michelin-starred chef and owner, NRI and Lima andnbsp;/strong/p pandnbsp;/p pstrongEat Good, Feel goodandnbsp;/strong/p pIn London (UK), my favourite new restaurant has to be the three-Michelin starred Chef David Munozandrsquo;s StreetXO in Mayfair. Itandrsquo;s probably the craziest and the most promising restaurant I have dined at recently. My favourites are the dumplingsandmdash;I am still dreaming about them; donandrsquo;t even get me started on the cocktails. StreetXO has managed to pull off an elusive combination of inspired imagination, mind-bending techniques and some exquisite flavours.andnbsp;/p pandnbsp;/p pstrongCanandrsquo;t live withoutandnbsp;/strong/p pBack home, in India, I have to mention that my mother cooks the best meals, and when I can, I eat there every night. My favourite dish is her rajma; itandrsquo;s the most comforting dish to have with rice or bread, some mango pickle and a side of potatoes with okra. Does she make it better than me? Iandrsquo;d rather not sayandhellip;andnbsp;/p pandnbsp;/p pstrongTop of the lotandnbsp;/strong/p pIn Dubai, I love to visit COYA, and The Scene by Simon Rimmerandmdash;the views of the marina from both these restaurants are incredible. If you are at COYA, try the seafood tacos and homemade guacamole. The Chilean sea bass is cooked perfectly every time with the most delicious balance of zing and spice. At The Scene, make sure you book in advance as it gets extremely busy. I tried the glazed feta, spinach and pistachio filo pie and red pepper jam and was impressed with the tasty, flaky and cheesy pieandmdash;real good comfort food./p pstrongbr //strong/p pstrongChef Biswas, Executive Chef at Ananda in the Himalayasandnbsp;/strong/p pandnbsp;/p pstrongEat Good, Feel good/strongandnbsp;/p pPark Street in Kolkata and Covent Garden in London are my absolute favourites! Both these places bring out the best of world cuisines in an eclectic manner, coupled with the ambience of street markets. One of the oldest restaurants in Kolkata that I love to go back to is Trincas in Park Streetandmdash;itandrsquo;s a family restaurant which serves Indian, Western and Oriental cuisines and is always buzzing with the hoi polloi of the city. In Bengaluru, Sunnyandrsquo;s serves good steaks along with a mix of New World and Old World wines. For mouth-watering Galawati kebabs, I run to Rajinder da Dhaba, Karimandrsquo;s and Khan Chacha in Delhi. Close to Piccadilly Circus in London, I have always enjoyed the Thai food at Busaba Eathai; casual fare served with chilled Asahi is such a refresher. Besides these, Michelin-starred restaurants such as Amaya (Indian cuisine), Zafferano (Italian cuisine) and Nobu (needs no description) also appear on the list. What makes these restaurants exceptional is the freshness of the produce that gets transformed with skilled hands on the plate and service par excellence.andnbsp;/p pandnbsp;/p pstrongCanandrsquo;t live without/strongandnbsp;/p pKolkataandrsquo;s famous Chelo kebabs is a meal in itself and consists of tender lamb seekh kebabs served with a fried egg, malai chicken tikka, grilled tomato and buttered rice. This is best served at Peter Cat, which has been around for a very long time, and has survived the changing times. Covent Garden, London, is known for its iconic Cornish pastiesandmdash;the filling has chicken and onions that are slow cooked, stuffed in the finest Cornish pastry, and then sealed and baked to crispy glory. Amaya, Chutney Mary and Veeraswamy are some of the icons of modern Indian cuisine in London.andnbsp;/p pandnbsp;/p pstrongTop of the lotandnbsp;/strong/p pAll of these are statements dishesandmdash; works of art and science brought together by pure enterprise and dedication./p pandnbsp;/p pstrongMore On andgt;andgt; a href="http://www.luxpresso.com/lifestyle/food-drink" target="_blank"Food andamp; Drink/a/strong/p
