Tag Heuer has unveiled its second-generation smartwatch: the Connected Modular 45. Designed with the same focus and intricacies as its mechanical counterparts, the new 45mm water-resistant timepiece allows for full aesthetical customisation courtesy of its range of fine materials – think grade 5 titanium in different finishes, rose gold, ceramic and even diamonds. At the heart of the watch is Android Wear with optimised supporting features including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, Google Assistant and NFC.
“This innovative, unique and distinctive watch is at the forefront of the latest technologies available in Silicon Valley and, at the same time, a genuine Swiss watch, bearing the Swiss Made label,” shared Jean-Claude Biver, TAG Heuer CEO and President of the LVMH Watch Division. “It is the incarnation of our leading position with luxury connected watch and with this high level of technology.”
Nevertheless, more than just an updated version of its predecessor, the new watch earns its name due to its versatility; in a potential first for the horological world, the central components of the watch – case, lugs, buckle, strap – are interchangeable with compatible Tag Heuer modules with mechanical movements, such as the Tourbillon Heuer 02-T.
The Tag Heuer Connected Modular 45 is priced at EUR 5700 and is now available at Tag Heuer boutiques worldwide.
