Christie's New York Sells a Rare Lamp for $2.8 Million

pAt a recently held sale, the New York department of Christieandrsquo;s auction house sold a rare, antique lamp for a whopping $2.8 million. The lamp in questionandmdash;the Pink Lotusandmdash;was manufactured by New Yorkandrsquo;s Tiffany Studios in 1906. It is made using the copper foil technique a.k.a. Tiffany stained-glass technique, a method where individual pieces of glass are edged with copper foil and soldered together.
