British fashion house Burberry is letting consumers in on the inspiration behind its February 2017 collection with an exhibition at Makers House.

Burberry’s February 2017 collection was inspired by British sculptor Henry Moore, whose namesake foundation partnered with the fashion house for the temporary exhibit. Burberry’s Makers House exhibit will provide fans of Mr. Moore a rare opportunity to view his work and creative process that inspired chief creative/CEO Christopher Bailey’s collection.

The Makers House exhibit will be up Feb. 21-27, opening the day after Burberry presents the February 2017 coed collection during London Fashion Week.

On view will be more than 40 of Mr. Moore’s sculptures, bronzes, working models and drawings. Burberry February 2017 pieces will also be on display, linking inspiration with final execution.

Burberry’s dedication to British arts and craft will be explored in a program of workshops, events and acoustic performances held at Makers House.

“I have been fascinated by the great British sculptor Henry Moore for as long as I can remember — his work has always had a powerful influence on me,” Mr. Bailey said in a statement. “Looking at, and thinking about, his work set up a series of conversations as we began working on our latest collection.

“The result is an incredibly enriching collaboration with his foundation which has extended well beyond our show, and into an extraordinary exhibition of his work and process at Makers House,” he said.

“Mr. Moore’s work on display will be a shining example of the creativity and enormous contribution he made to the development of contemporary art in the United Kingdom and way beyond, and I’m excited to be showing our February collection alongside the remarkable work of the artist that inspired it.”

On Feb. 8, Burberry unveiled a campaign still featuring two looks from the February 2017 collection. The campaign, which will bow directly after the runway presentation, was shot on location at Henry Moore Studios & Gardens in Hertfordshire, Britain.

The looks in the campaign preview are available for pre-order starting today and will be delivered from the moment they are revealed on the runway Feb. 20.

When the full campaign breaks on Feb. 20, consumers will be able to purchase pieces from the collection immediately.

To promote the new collection further, Burberry worked with Condé Nast-owned Love magazine to give consumers a sneak peek.

Published biannually, Love magazine #17 arrived on newsstands Feb. 6 and featured eight covers, a majority of which were photographed by model Kendall Jenner. For five of the eight covers, those pictured wore looks from Burberry’s February 2017 collection (see story).
