Sotheby's to Auction a Rare Sky Blue Diamond

pThe Sky Blue Diamond , that made headlines (thanks to its distinct colour and estimated price tag of $15 to 25 million, an approximated 100 to 166 crores), is up for auction via Sothebyandrsquo;s this month. Weighing 8.01 carats, it has been graded Fancy Vivid Blue by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). It is the highest possible colour grade, and it has been conferred upon only one per cent of blue stones by the GIA. Besides this, it is a Type IIb rock, which means it is the purest form of diamond that comprises 0.5 per cent of stones across the globe./p pandnbsp;/p pMounted on a Cartier ring, surrounded by white diamonds, the stone will be the centrepiece of an auction of Magnificent and Noble Jewels at the Beau-Rivage Hotel in Geneva on November 16th./p pandnbsp;/p pstrongMore On andgt;andgt; a href="http://www.luxpresso.com/topic/art-auctions" target="_blank"Art andamp; Auctions/a/strong/p
