The new Chanel store in Honolulu, Hawaii at Ala Moana Cneter covers a space of 1,100-square-foot and is dedicated entirely to shoes, a new concept for the brand and a testament to the importance of the category. Previously, the store housed the watch and fine jewelry collections.
“This is our first stand-alone shoe boutique so we’re seeing how this will work for us,” said Joyce Green, Chanel’s executive vice president of fashion. “Shoes are a very important piece of our fashion business so it’s a great link to ready to wear and to recruiting a new client.”
This is not the first time the label has opened a footwear-only store with a temporary boutique. Chanel also opened a shoes-only location at its rue Saint-Honoré flagship in Paris, on the corner of the rue Cambon. That store closed in late January. Chanel has also opened a shop-in-shop just for footwear at Tsum in Moscow.
