pFrom striped summer dresses to hand-embellished party wear and pastel coloured separates, here are the top SS andrsquo;17 fashion trends we spotted at the recently concluded Amazon India Fashion Week (AIFW)./p pandnbsp;/p pstrongEmbellished Summer Capes/strong/p pstrongbr //strong/p pstrong/strong/p p style="text-align: center;"strong/strong/p pandnbsp;/p pCapes were a big hit this season. While some were sewn into crop-top emcholis/em, others were used as covers up for bikinis. The spring summer andrsquo;17 collections of designers Masaba Gupta, Pria Kataria Puri, Mandira Wirk, and duo Pankaj and Nidhi saw a heavy influence of this style. From Athiya Shetty who walked for Masaba Gupta as the showstopper in a gold embroidered black cape shirt, to Nimrat Kaur who looked gorgeous in an all-white Mandira Wirk ensemble, the style seemed to have caught up fast on the ramp./p pandnbsp;/p pstrongAll About Ivory/strong/p pstrongbr //strong/p pstrong/strong/p p style="text-align: center;"strong/strong/p pandnbsp;/p pFor the upcoming season, AIFW introduced ivory as the IT colour; and designers didnandrsquo;t shy away from displaying their unconventional take on the colour. From handloom saris to sheer frocks, palazzo trousers, and gowns with sequin embroidery, the colour was part of the collections of designers like Payal Pratap, Anavila, Mandira Wirk, Pratima Pandey and Felix Bendish./p pandnbsp;/p pstrongHandloom Diaries/strong/p pstrongbr //strong/p pstrong/strong/p p style="text-align: center;"strong/strong/p pandnbsp;/p pIn continuation to Textile Minister Smriti Iraniandrsquo;s #iwearhandloom campaign, the first two days of AIFW were dedicated to Indian handlooms. On the first day, while Krishna Mehta designed a colourful line-up of emMaheshwari /emsilk saris in western silhouettes, Rina Dhaka incorporated empaithani /emgold thread motifs in her nude tulle dresses and skirts. On the second day, 16 designers, including Anita Dongre, Atsu Sekhose, Gaurav Jai Gupta, Samant Chauhan, Ragini Ahuja of Ikai, Payal Pratap, Ruchika Sachdev of Bodice and few others, celebrated emchanderi /emsilk in association with the Scindia family of Gwalior. With an aim to revive the beauty of this textile, saris and emchanderi /emsilk emlehenga cholis /emwere created using intricate emzari /emwork. Actress Aditi Rao Hydari was seen wearing a emchanderi /emsilk emlehenga choli /emas she walked the ramp as the showstopper for designer Sanjay Garg./p pandnbsp;/p pstrongA Separate Story/strong/p pstrongbr //strong/p pstrong/strong/p p style="text-align: center;"strong/strong/p pandnbsp;/p pApart from dresses, the runway also spotted separates like palazzos paired with tunics, skirts, and crop tops, and saris paired with jackets and shirts. andnbsp;Designer Urvashi Kaur led the trend with a collection of shirt-dresses paired with ill-fitted emsalwars/em, palazzos with spaghetti emkurtas/em, and linen jersey t-shirts worn with saris, and skirts. Apart from her, other designers like Amit Aggarwal, Payal Pratap, Sanchita Ajjampur, Masaba Gupta and Virtues by Viral Parikh too incorporated the trend in their fashion line-ups./p pandnbsp;/p pstrongStripes and Patterns/strong/p pstrongbr //strong/p pstrong/strong/p p style="text-align: center;"strong/strong/p pandnbsp;/p pA mandeacute;lange of stripes and patterns were presented on the ramp for the upcoming season. Duo Hemant and Nanditaandrsquo;s Victorian era-inspired collection celebrated this trend on a larger scale. Joining them were designers Ashish Soni and Rajesh Pratap Singh whose black and white indo-western looks included polka-dotted jackets and shirts paired with striped trousers and coats. Aneeth Arora from Pandeacute;roandrsquo;s collection was in sync with the trend too. Though she did not show her collection on the ramp, she did have a live installation running on all the days of the fashion week. Using the emmashru /emtextile from Gujarat, the designerandrsquo;s collection was a line-up of striped dresses, skirts and tops printed with colourful floral motifs./p pandnbsp;/p pstrongMore On andgt;andgt; a href="http://www.luxpresso.com/style/fashion" target="_blank"Fashion/a/strong/p
