All Goude: The Amazing Kenzo x HandM's Campaign

p/p pandnbsp;/p pHandamp;Mandrsquo;s latest designer collaboration with Kenzo is definitely going to be worth the wait. A high-fashion capsule line of quirky print prandecirc;t pieces, the global campaign for the collection will be shot by French photographer Jean-Paul Goude. He is the man behind Kim Kardashianandrsquo;s much-talked-of cover shoot for Paper magazineandrsquo;s November andrsquo;14 issue. While the collection will hit stores on November 3rd, 2016, the teaser for the print campaign is already making the rounds on the internet. The video campaign is scheduled to release on October 20th, 2016./p pandnbsp;/p pThe campaign stars seven personalities, namely Chancellor Johnathan Bennett (best known as Chance the Rapper), supermodel Iman Abdulmajid, Vietnamese rapper Suboi, actress Rosario Dawson, musician Ryuichi Sakamoto, actress and former model Chloe Sevigny, and hip hop artist Xiuhtezcatl Martinez. Speaking of his experience of shooting with the celebrities, Goude says, andldquo; The choice of the celebrities that were brought together for the campaign was perfect. I have always enjoyed doing portraits. Itandrsquo;s a great opportunity to graphically dramatise an individualandrsquo;s personality, and in a way, each one of the pictures of the campaign is a portrait of a particular celebrity as seen by Kenzo x Handamp;M. So, it was much more than a job, it was pure fun!andrdquo;/p pandnbsp;/p pThe campaign also features Goudeandrsquo;s signature image cutting technique wherein he manually trims and crops photographs instead of editing them digitally. andldquo; When I first started cutting up transparencies for this campaign, I didnandrsquo;t know where I was going. Even though it felt like I was committing a sacrilege, I kept cutting until I could clearly see my photographic version of a fashion drawing. It became my way of doing things, drawing with photographs in a rough spontaneous way. It was an alternative to the earnestness of commercial fashion photography in general, andrdquo; says Goude./p pandnbsp;/p pDespite being picky about his projects, the 76-year-old was keen to shoot this Handamp;M campaign. He says, andldquo;I agreed to this campaign because itandrsquo;s a unique project and a great opportunity to show this side of my work in an advertising context. I usually work with and for people who appreciate what I do, and I like to know the people I work for. I like to understand how their minds work, to see if we share the same sensibility. I met Carol and Humberto, Creative Directors of Kenzo, at the beginning of their time with the brand. I loved their attitude and the way they were so radical and free. To my surprise, they seemed to have such knowledge of my work that I felt immediately at home. When they approached me to work with them again for the Kenzo x Handamp;M collection, it was the cherry on the cake. I was thrilled.andrdquo; Goude is someone who believes that collaborating with a brand like Handamp;M gives him the chance to do something bigger and bolder. andnbsp;/p pandnbsp;/p pstrongMore On andgt;andgt; a href="http://www.luxpresso.com/style/fashion" target="_blank"Fashion/a/strong/p
