Mesmerizingly willowy actress Keira Knightley has long been a favorite of the creative directors at Chanel. Karl Lagerfeld has a number of go-to actresses to whom he repeatedly returns when in need of good muses and models. Following on the heels of a campaign that featured Kirsten Stewart, the new campaign with Knightley is evidence that dark haired, brooding beauties will always have a place in the Chanel aesthetic.
Knightley has previously fronted the house’s Coco Mademoiselle perfume and Rouge Coco lipstick. In 2011 Knightley starred in a short film directed by Joe Wright to promote Coco Mademoiselle perfume. In her new role as jewelry muse, Knightley is taking over from past models such as Sigrid Agren and Jac Jagaciak. The new campaign, which will be shot by Mario Testino, will debut in full this fall.
Also later in the year Knightley will be promoting her new film “Collateral Beauty” and it’s expected that she’ll be flaunting a lot of Chanel on the red carpet.
