The famous Italian brand rolled out their new ad campaign on Instagram Monday morning. The images, which were shot by Craig McDean, feature Oscar-winning actor Eddie Redmayne as the current face of Prada. Redmayne is known for portraying Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything, as well as for his roles in Les Misérables and The Danish Girl.
Prada prefers to feature a mix of well-known and newly emerging talent in their ad campaigns. Redmayne, however, is definitely one of their more famous faces. According to the brand’s Instagram, they chose Redmayne to portray “a contemporary masculinity that aligns worldly travel with intrepid self-knowledge and oblique, original thinking.” Included among the collection is a pinstripe charcoal frock coat, and a much more informal knitwear piece that Redmayne manages to pull off and make look quite cozy despite its jarring color scheme.
