The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas is paying tribute to the agave plant with the unveiling of a one-of-a-kind tequila vault.

As part of the effort to highlight local Tex-Mex cuisine available at the hotel, the tequila vault will become part of the hotel’s nightly Guacamologist Experience, where its chef prepares a nightly batch of handcrafted guacamole using local produce and paired with a signature margarita. Hospitality brands often showcase local ingredients and dishes, but enhancing a destination’s best-known spirits is not as common.

Ritz-Carlton, Dallas’ tequila vault is a prized trove of rare, signature-barrel select tequilas and the agave plant-derived spirit, mezcal. Located in the hotel’s lobby, the cache also includes the Patrón en Lalique collaboration, valued at more than $8,000 and limited to only 100 bottles (see story).

Starting May 13, the tequila vault will be opened each night at 6 p.m. to coincide with the Guacamologist Experience, adding a focus on tequilas and tequila education. The vault itself is curated by a bartender specialist, trained by the CRT, the regulatory body which oversees tequila production in Mexico, and a newly appointed tequilier, the hotel’s official expert on all things tequila.

Guests can order from the vault at the Fearing’s Restaurant Rattlesnake Bar or through tequila servers in the hotel lobby.

Each month, the vault will feature a speciality tequila or mezcal cocktail, served during and after the Guacamologist Experience. The cocktail will also be available at the hotel’s restaurants and bars.

The property will also host a high-profile bartender or spirits expert once a month for a tequila or mezcal tasting. New specialty drinks will be presented at this time as well.
