The Langham London marks a glorious come-back

The Langham, one of London’s quintessentially Grand Dame hotel welcoming guests since 1865 has been undergoing a gradual revival by The Langham Group, starting with the redesign and renovation of the public spaces, including the all-day dining The Palm Court, The Roux tat The Landau Restaurant and The Artesian Bar. Mention must be made that, in 2015, The Langham, the flagship property of The Langham Group, celebrated its 150th anniversary.

Last year saw the addition of a brand new Langham Club Lounge, in line with the same styling direction, an elegant contemporary design with a modern touch, the focus being the utmost comfort of the guests. The Club offers an exclusive Butler Service headed up by Director of In-Room Dining and Butler Services. The Club provides an intimate an exclusive retreat (there is also a fireplace) for both corporate and leisure guests seeking a personalized service.

Another innovative approach of the new Langham Club Lounge is The Butler’s Pantry which serves a selection of culinary offerings from all of The Langham, London’s outlets including fine dining Roux at The Landau restaurant, award-winning Langham Afternoon Tea by Cherish Finden of Palm Court and cocktails from ‘The World’s Best Bar’, Artesian.

One of the highlights of the hotel is the Artesian Bar, voted ”The World’s Best Bar” for four consecutive years by Drinks International. The vibe of the bar is one-of-a-kind, complemented by exceptional service and a most innovative selection of drinks. Recently, The Artesian launched  innovative new cocktail menu ‘Surrealism’ allowing guests to delve into their subconscious. The setting is a blend of sleek contemporary with striking modern touches.

The re-named Roux at The Landau fine dining restaurant sees father and son Albert and Michel Roux Jr working together for the first time in over 20 years, bringing the Roux’s legendary culinary expertise and creativity to their second West End address. The menu offers an outstanding selection of dishes, predominantly classic, yet with an innovative approach while using seasonal ingredients. Service was at attentive and efficient.

Rooms and suites in the Regent Wing of the hotel have also been completely redesigned with the same elegant contemporary touch which perfectly blends with the heritage of the hotel. Beds are exceptionally comfortable, with the finest linen and an exceptional bedding set-up. The marble bathrooms feature a separate walk in-shower and a bathtub with amenities by Chuan, the Spa brand of the Langham. Throughout my stay, housekeeping service provided an exceptional standard of service.

The Langham is among the very few London luxury hotels to feature a 16m indoor heated pool. This made up for a most relaxing afternoon, complemented by the experience of a herbal steam room and a holistic relaxing massage. My therapist at the Spa was highly trained and provided a most personalized approach to my needs. The Spa has a wide range of other treatments such as: traditional Chinese medicine treatments, wellness for cancer treatments, Germaine de Capuccini Efficy treatments etc.

From a location point of view, The Langham is ideal for both business and private travelers seeking to explore London. For those on a shopping spree, the hotel is steps from Oxford Street and Regent Street.
