Versace reports full year 2015 revenue increase of 17.5% to a total of 645 million euro (+ 8.6% at constant exchange rates) while the EBITDA grew by 19.9 % to 81 million euro. “In 2016 we will invest more than 50 million in new openings,” anticipates the CEO Gian Giacomo Ferraris.
Retail sales, in fact, increased by 28.9% to 400.7 million euro, while the wholesale channel has remained steady recording 194.9 million euro versus 195.7 million euro in the previous year. Royalties amounted to 49.4 million euro, an increase of 17%, while e-commerce has registered a 31.2% growth.
“Versace, said Gian Giacomo Ferraris, has recorded an excellent 2015, proving resilient despite the difficult environment of international markets in the luxury sector.” Looking ahead, “we are cautiously optimistic for 2016 and we continue to expect revenue growth, despite the uncertain conditions in the first quarter of the year and the increase in global variables.”
Sales in Europe have recorded a 33% increase, 36.6% in China, 26.7% in Asia and 27% in North America.
In 2016 Versace will also invest in the renewal of stores such as flagship on 5th Avenue in New York and the one via Montenapoleone in Milan.
The Versus Versace line makeover, designed by Anthony Vaccarello, has hit the mark: the retail sales year-on-year more than doubled, while wholesale revenues posted an increase of 21.4%.
All licenses recorded a double-digit rise, driven by the fragrances. Other licenses also grew including interior design and eyewear.
