Located on the third floor of Osaka’s Umeda Hankyu department store, the 535-square-foot café-cum-shop features a green onyx counter, interwoven PVC stools, a blue sofa, along with small tables crafted from brass and green marble.
The Marni Flower Café serves Italian specialties such as focaccia bread and traditional cakes, and carries a range of customized Marni products, which will change every four months.
For the opening, Marni designed a picnic set, wood lunch boxes, multicolor furoshiki— traditional Japanese foulards used to wrap bento boxes — as well as thermoses, floral bags, PVC vases and porcelain sets showing some of the label’s archival patterns.
According to the company, additional Marni Flower Cafés will open across Japan and other countries in the next few months.
