Rolls-Royce Dawn Fetches $750,000 At Auction

Some may have thought that Scottsdale, Arizona was the automotive auction capital of the universe this past weekend, but one very special car raked in $750,000 at the Winter Wine Auction in Naples, Florida. The very first Rolls-Royce Dawn built for North America was sold to Julian and Aleen Movsesian in a hotly contested auction, with proceeds benefitting the Naples Children & Education Foundation.

Julian and Aleen Movsesian are California residents who came to Naples specifically to bid on the car and will take delivery of it later this spring after it is customized to their specifications. The Rolls-Royce Dawn is the first new car from the iconic British motorcar company since Wraith was introduced in 2013. It is a two-door, four-passenger drophead coupe that offers the ultimate in luxury and comfort in a smaller, sportier package.

Asked why Rolls-Royce offered the first production Dawn at the Naples Auction, CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös said, “Over the past decade, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has worked closely with many owners to raise millions of dollars for local charities. It is entirely befitting that the first new Dawn is born into such altruistic company.”

Rolls-Royce retailers are taking orders for Dawn now, and though pricing hasn’t been announced, we can assure you it will be significantly less than the $750,000 the Mr. and Mrs. Movsesian paid. We will be driving Dawn in the coming months and will have a full review of the vehicle as soon as it’s available.
