Hermès sales in 2015 have in fact reached 4.8 billion euros, up by 17.5% at current exchange rates and 8.1% at constant exchange rates. As for the fourth quarter, the increase was 14.5% at current exchange rates (+7.2% at constant exchange rates).
Despite the positive performance, analysits do not seem to be satisfied, as the pace of growth reported in the fourth quarter is the lowest in since six years.
Due to economic, geopolitical and monetary uncertainties at a global level, the French fashion house announced that the sales growth in 2016 could be below the medium-term goal of 8%. The results for 2015 fiscal year will be published on March 23rd.
Leather goods revenue rose 14.3 percent in the last three months of the year, while fashion and ready-to-wear sales grew 3.7 percent, Hermes said.
Hermes said its silk and textiles sales fell 7.2 percent in the fourth quarter. The division was “hit by the year-end events in France, and suffered from slowing sales in Greater China but continued to develop in the other regions”.
