Puig acquires Jean Paul Gaultier fragrances license from Shiseido

Spanish beauty giant Puig has now integrated the Jean Paul Gaultier fragrance line into its portfolio. Puig acquired a majority stake in the fashion brand in 2011, but the fragrance license remained with Shiseido’s Beaute Prestige International division until the end of 2015.Puig plans a new feminine launch in 2017, and according to a report on WWD, they plan to reduce the current Gaultier line up to Le Male and Classique.

Puig told WWD, “They still command the biggest shares of [Gaultier’s] sales, We will animate those brands in the first year in a way that we hope will excite consumers and retailers.
