Dakota Johnson, know for her bold role in Fifty Shades of Grey, is appearing on the cover of the February issue of the British Vogue. Clad in a satin white and black lace night wear with a coat loosely draped over her shoulder, the 26 year old daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson makes her debut as the cover star of the fashion bible.
Photographed by Alasdair McLellan, inside the issue a monochrome image features Johnson showing off her legs wearing a thigh-high coat and high heels. The American actress also shares her views on life in Hollywood and growing up as a part of an acting dynasty. Dakota also declares that she has no regrets about her most famous role of Anastasia Steele. She told Vogue, “I’m proud of Fifty Shades of Grey. I don’t need to distance myself from that. The more work I do, the more the general public sees the different things I can do. Do I think it opened doors? Yeah. More people know my name.”
Voicing her opinions about ageism in the glamorous film industry, she spoke with reference to her mother, Melanie Griffith, and grandmother, Tippi Hedren. The young actress added, “Why isn’t my mother in movies? She’s an extraordinary actress! Why isn’t my grandmother in movies? This industry is fucking brutal.” Johnson also commented, “No matter how tough you are, sometimes there’s the feeling of not being wanted. It’s absurd and cut-throat. Whenever I have downtime, I’m unsure that I will ever work again. I don’t know what it is, but it’s a definite thing that happens to me.”
To read Dakota Johnson’s full interview, fans need to wait as February Vogue is set to hit the newsstands on January 7th.
