BMW unveils spectacular driverless concept car at 2016 CES

The concept car, called the BMW iVision Future Interaction, was unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week. The BMW’s open design and minimalist interior gives us a taste of how driverless technology will continue to shape car designs.

The iVision Future Interaction concept car is a two-seater that comes in a brilliant orange color. It offers plenty of leg room. All of the mirrors were replaced by a three-camera system. BMW claims these cameras cover “larger viewing angles and eliminates dangerous blind spots.”

The display can be controlled using voice control, its touch screens, or even by making hand gestures. The dashboard is noticeably sparse because the display can do everything for you.

As far as driverless features go, this BMW concept has three drive modes: Pure Drive, Assist, and Auto Mode. Pure drive is for manually driving while assist offers some autopilot assistance. Auto mode is referred to as a “highly automated operation.”

The concept car also offers “gesture control parking,” allowing you to wave your hand when you want the car to pull in and out of a parking space.
