Jaeger LeCoultre celebrates 85th anniversary of the Reverso at SIHH 2016

 Jaeger-LeCoultre will launch three anniversary collections at SIHH 2016 in January, in Geneva: the Reverso Classic, Reverso Tribute, and Reverso One.

Reverso Classic

The Reverso Classic is crafted in stainless steel and comes in three sizes: small (34 mm x 21 mm x 7.40 mm), medium (40 mm x 24.4 mm x 7.40 mm), and large (45.6 mm x 27.4 x 9.70 mm). The former is powered by a quartz JLC Caliber 657 movement, and the latter two are powered by the JLC Caliber 965 automatic mechanical movement.

The rectangle-shaped dial is distinguished by a silver-toned, vertical brushed outer ring, with transferred black numerals, around a guilloché center with a black transferred minute track, along with blued baton hour and minute hands. The back of the Reverso Classic timepiece is in steel and allows for customization, such as personal engravings.

Reverso Classic Large Duo

Available in stainless steel or pink gold, the Reverso Classic Large Duo (above) comes in a 47 mm x 28.3 mm x 11.6 mm case. On the front  is a silver-toned, vertical brushed and guilloché dial with black transferred numerals, with blued baton hands, like the aforementioned Classic. But instead of a solid caseback, there is an additional time display on the back, in black with a Clous de Paris hobnail guilloché pattern and white hour-markers and sword-shaped hands.

A 24-hour day/night indicator appears at 6 o’clock on the brushed, guilloché front dial, while the black dial on the back displays “home time.” The Jaeger-LeCoultre anchor symbol replaces the numeral 12 on the back dial. Further, the second dial also reveals, in its center, the oscillating weight that winds the movement. Powering the watch is the automatic JLC caliber 969, which beats at 4Hz and has 229 total components (30 jewels) and a power reserve of 38-hours.

Reverso Tribute Calendar

The Reverso Tribute Calendar has two dials and is powered by JLC Caliber 853, which beats at 3 Hz and has 282 components (21 jewels) and a power reserve or 45 hours.

The movement is housed in a rose gold case measuring 49.4 mm x 29.9 mm x 12.09 mm.

On the front, the silver-toned grained opaline dial, with gilt hour-markers and matching Dauphine-type hands, displays the hours, minutes, day, month, date, and moon phases. On the back, which features an anthracite Clous de Paris hobnail guilloché pattern, gilt hour-markers and Dauphine-type hands indicate a second time zone, along with the day/night indication.

Reverso Tribute Duo

The Reverso Tribute Duo (above) comes in a stainless steel case measuring 42.8 mm x 25.5 mm x 9.15 mm. Both the front and rear dials have Dauphine-type hands. The front dial is slightly grained, in white, with blue hour markers, hands, and a blue-printed subdial. The back is silver-toned for the hours, minutes and day/night indicator, with a blue guilloché background.

Inside the watch is JLC Caliber 854A/2, which is manually wound, beats at 3Hz, and is made up of 180 total components (including 21 jewels). The power reserve is 45 hours.
