Los Angeles’ The Chateau Marmont Hotel has invited high-profile hair stylist John Nollet to Suite 11 for a pop-up salon.

Mr. Nollet, a hair stylist to Hollywood and fashion A-listers, travels the globe visiting the world’s top hotels for temporary salon pop-ups, in what he calls his “hair room service around the world trip.” High-end hospitality relies on superior levels of service and experience, making Mr. Nollet’s salon a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for many guests.

Made-to-measure haircare
Ahead of the 89th Academy Awards on Feb. 26, Mr. Nollet traveled to Chateau Marmont to set up his pop-up salon. Between Feb. 20 and Feb. 27, guests of Chateau Marmont will have the chance to have their hair styled by Mr. Nollet.

This is not the hotel’s first beauty experience launched during award season. Last year, French couture house Chanel gave Californians the Hollywood treatment in a pop-up beauty installation.

“I Love Coco” was timed to coincide with the Academy Awards, and was hosted at Chateau Marmont’s bar and restaurant, evoking the feel of a private club (see story).

Mr. Nollet’s “hair room service” will be found in the Sunset Boulevard hotels’ Suite 11. Guests who book one-on-one appointments with Mr. Nollet will experience a “made-to-measure” service for their hair.

Guests can sit for a cut and styling or have their hair made Oscars-ready with a sophisticated updo. Hair accessories such as headbands, combs and feathers handmade by Atelieres Lemarié, Lesage and Hamon will be used in the hairdos.

The pop-up salon will also include a display of Paris’ Maison de Coiffure’s latest hair accessory collections.

Mr. Nollet transports his styling tools in a new, bespoke travel trunk created by Louis Vuitton’s Ateliers in Asnières, France.

The trunk is handmade of leather and velvet with drawers and compartments to hold the tools of Mr. Nollet’s trade such as silver hairbrushes transformed to hold sewing pins, hair accessories, candles and French crystal glasses, among other necessities.
