Louis Vuitton unveils newly redesigned store in SoHo, New York

The newly redesigned Louis Vuitton store in Soho, New York is the result of a collaboration between architect Peter Marino and artists Shuji Mukai and Giuseppe Penone who worked alongside him on the project. The redesigned store is something of an art gallery with lighting, layouts and finishes all optimised to make the best of the displayed goods

Shuji Mukai was hand-painted three columns within the store. His design references the Gutai Art Movement popular in the 1950s and 60s. Visitors at the store might enjoy a moment in this Cocoon Chair designed by the Campana Brothers.

Textured finishes contrast with the sleek look of the store. The building’s original architectural details have been incorporated into the redesign.

Italian artist Giuseppe Penone contributed artwork made of molded leather and bronze. The exterior remains a beautiful sight. The store had first opened in 1998.
