The launch of Ducati’s XDiavel last year caused waves amongst petrolheads across the globe. And now the brand introduces a special, designer version of the muscle bike with Californian customiser Roland Sands at the 76th annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
Started in 1938, the rally has over half a million bikers from across the globe exploring new luxury two-wheelers and roadsters.
This is the first time that Ducati is presenting at the rally, and the XDiavel will be riding on some of the most legendary motorcycling roads of the world. The bike blends American cruiser-style bike with high torque at low RPM and an Italian exterior.
The American motorcycle customiser, Roland Sands, has worked on this ‘Red Dot Design Award’ winning bike. The new bespoke version features a top-class finish and reflects a strong personality.
Sands-styled Ducati has a one-piece body fixed to the distinctive trellis frame. It rides on a sturdy a 19-inch front wheel and features a collection of billet aluminium detailing. The cruiser gets a sportier look while retaining the brand’s DNA.
Roland’s penchant for Ducati bikes is well known. So along with the bespoke motorcycle, the designer has also created an exclusive line of accessories and components available at Ducati dealers.
Talking about this collaboration, Jason Chinnock the CEO of Ducati North America said, “The response to our presence here at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally has been exceptionally welcoming. This custom-built XDiavel by Roland Sands Design embodies the spirit of personalisation that makes this Rally so special. The XDiavel and this interpretation provide us an opportunity to share Ducati with all in attendance.”
