Through our conversation, we discovered that more than 50 individual artisans devoted over 1,000 hours to produce a limited edition case for a Louis XIII bottle. The evening was a walk down memory lane, taking connoisseurs through the journey of Louis XIII that commenced in the late 1870s. andldquo;Itandrsquo;s very unique; such a collaboration, where four stellar French houses join hands makes this association not only iconic but extremely rare and exclusive,andrdquo; said Ludovic, who also told us how the Louis XIII concoction infuses 1200 unique ingredients and is aged for 100 years./p pandnbsp;/p pandnbsp;/p p style="text-align: center;"/p pandnbsp;/p pandnbsp;/p pAfter being bottled for the first time in 1874, Louis XIII set course for the USA in 1876, followed by China in 1878 and then to India in 1881. After having mapped a journey across the globe, the 100-year-old Louis XIII was presented in a stunning handcrafted Baccarat decanter, designed to fit in as Remy Martinandrsquo;s choicest creation. andldquo;Louis XIII has been a global brand since its origin and was opened only on momentous occasions like the 60th year anniversary of Queen Elizabeth's coronation. It has been a drink served only to the Kings and Queens, and hence, will be reserved for such moments in the future too.andrdquo;/p pandnbsp;/p pIn fact, the brand has also created a movie called andlsquo;100 yearsandrsquo;, starring John Malkovich and directed by Robert Rodriguez. Slated to release in 2115, the movie envisions the earth 100 years into the future and will be watched by a chosen few descendants who will be handed over special tickets, passed on for generations./p pandnbsp;/p pThe collaboration to design the travel case began three years ago, as stated by Ludovic; he also told us how the four brands invested their aesthetics, traditions, and artistic entourage to design this masterpiece. andldquo;This collaboration is truly unique, as the engraving on the magnum decanter of Louis XIII is carved by a single person, who was chosen after years of search operations. Even 10ml of the blend served in Baccarat crystal glasses, exuded an aroma that was divine. As stated by Ludovic, sipping on a Louis XIII cognac is an art in itself. Right from dabbing a drop of it on the lips to feeling its texture and sniffing the strong aroma of nutmeg and vanilla, the blend is smooth and needs no swirling to heighten its flavours.
