Firmdale Hotels to open second New York property, The Whitby Hotel

British hotel group Firmdale Hotels will open in December its second property in New York, The Whitby Hotel. The new hotel will be located in upper Midtown Manhattan on West 56^th Street at 5^th Avenue,  New York– a prime location for luxury shopping, galleries and close to Central Park.

The Whitby will comprise 86 individually styled rooms and suites, many with private terraces and floor to ceiling windows. There will also be a  stunning two-bedroom suite that will encompass the entire top floor and feature two terraces with views to the north and south The hotel will feature The Whitby Bar and Restaurant, drawing room, orangery and courtyard as well as several private events spaces and a 130-seater cinema. A a cozy drawing room and terrace will serve as a gathering place for guests.

The Whitby is expected to be similat in design with The Crosby, the other hotel of the Firmdale Group in New York.
