Michael Kors deliberately avoids social media

In order to unify communication about his Resort 2017 collection, Michael Kors will only offer previews of the collection to the press and will deliberately avoid social media, according to a company statement released today.

A preview of the collection will be held on June 7, 2016 at Spring Studios. During the preview, Kors will provide five photographs of the resort collection solely for editorial purposes to press outlets. No other photographs of Resort 2017 will be available until the looks are available for purchase in October 2016.

In a press release today, the designer explained the reasons behind this new approach: “We believe that our fans and our customers prefer to have a glimpse of the collection, rather than being inundated with too many images too quickly. It is well to peak curiosity when the products will be available.”
