Although it may seem new to patrons, for the brand, perfume making is not an unchartered territory and holds a place of prominence in its history. Apart from making trunks, bags and vanity cases for its discerning clientele, the brand has even created travel flasks and fragrances with its stamp, throughout the 20th century. It was in 1927 when the fashion house created its first fragrance, Heures d'Absence, which was followed by several others like Je, Tu and Il. Today, those fragrances have vanished, giving Louis Vuitton the liberty to explore newer avenues and discover something more unique./p pandnbsp;/p pThe brand, today, unveiled its creative atelier in the heart of world's perfume capitalandmdash;Grasseandmdash;and introduced the world to Les Parfums Louis Vuitton's house perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud. The man behind renowned fragrances like Stella by Stella McCartney and Dior Addict, Belletrud belongs to Grasse and has assembled an interesting palette of exclusive raw materials to experiment with. Perfumer Belletrud's paletteandmdash;touted as his dream paletteandmdash;is a result of his discoveries from the region in the past four years./p pandnbsp;/p pandnbsp;/p p style="text-align: center;"/p pandnbsp;/p pandnbsp;/p pBelletrud visited Louis Vuitton's several workshops, where he found one of his first inspirationsandmdash;leatherandmdash;and decided to create a made-to-measure infusion. He explored many leather aromas only to zero in on a light beige material that the house uses to cover its handles and straps. The material, it is believed, boasts of a subtle floral and musky scent; the very aspect that fascinated the perfumer. The extracted note smells sensual, giving the feel of discovering leather for the first time.
