Cars And Cuisine: Miami Supercar Rooms

In Las Vegas, you can dine at Picasso in the Belagio Hotel surrounded by the artist’s priceless paintings. In New York, caricatures of Broadway royalty stare at you from the walls of Sardi’s while you eat. But if you’re interested in eating your meal in the presence of some of the greatest cars ever made, you’ll have to head to South Florida and the Miami Supercar Room.

The Miami Supercar room is the brainchild of a self-described petrolhead, the British-born Elo, a former model and fashion designer, and owner of the London Motorcar Museum. It’s a 15,000 square-foot automotive art gallery that brings together rare cars, fine dining, and Miami nightlife. Elo outlines his vision for the concept this way, “South Florida has some of the most passionate auto enthusiasts and car collectors I have ever seen and we are giving them a reason to show off their possessions to the world. Our plan is to not only collaborate with the region’s automotive fan base, but to also offer an opportunity to the local culinary community to showcase their menus to our clientele in Wynwood within a unique high-octane environment.”

Cars in the collection include a 1955 SL 300 Mercedes Gullwing; 1929 Rolls-Royce Bootch; 1958 450 S Maserati racer; 1961 Ferrari 196 SP and the 2007 Shelby Supercar Ultimate Aero TT: heralded as the fastest production car in the world. You’ll also find a 1937 derivative of the only Bugatti Atlantic, known as the “Bugnaughty” built by the famed Terry Cook of Delahaye ÙSA and a 1953 Lamborghini tractor – the only one in America and one of only three remaining in the world. A complete list of all vehicles currently on display follows this article.

The Miami Supercar Dining experience is an epicurean journey in to gourmet cuisine. Six outdoor areas are available to reserve at $3,000 each for the entire evening – each one seating groups of up to six people. An associate is assigned to diners within each Pod and is knowledgeable about the car featured inside. The Chef de Cuisine for the night greets each group inside their area to discuss the specials of the day and the type of preferred cuisine each guest would like.

The culinary offering takes a seasonal and multi-cultural approach to reflect the best of the South Florida food scene. In addition to a selection of house made specialties, Miami Supercar Rooms will select a featured restaurant of the month, guests will also have the option to choose from a menu provided by a chosen South Florida restaurant for that month, brought-in to collaborate with Miami Supercar Rooms. The group or couples can choose to dine in complete privacy or with an ‘open’ area allowing for a view of the bar scene and DJ.

Zoel, a former VJ on MTV Latin America, is the resident music director, features the latest sounds from South America to Miami, Ibiza and London. A wide array of guest DJs and cutting-edge producers will also also make appearances. Fittingly the DJ booth at Miami Supercar Rooms is an authentic 1971 Chevrolet C30 pickup customized specifically for the venue.

Miami Supercar Rooms is located in the Wynwood Arts District and is open from 10:00am Wednesday through Monday, with dinner reservations available 6:00pm to 1:00am Friday through Sunday. The Auto Art Gallery is open to the public Wednesday through Monday with free admission from 10:00am to 6:00pm.
