Few designers are selected to showcase their designs during New York Fashion Week – the premier U.S. fashion industry event. This year, the newest designer to showcase her work Yiwei Xu made her NYFW debut when her All Comes From Nothing runway show premiered at Artbeam Studio on February 15th.
Eva Yiwei Xu worked at Michael Kors and Ralph Lauren for 5 years before founding All Comes From Nothing in 2014 out of a desire to create a more personal women’s wear line for creative lifestyles.
According to the designer: “The ALL COMES FROM NOTHING woman is determined to experience life and the world as it is. No longer lost on finding who she is or how to be, she has reached a point in her life where she knows herself deeply.
She is between late 20 and early 50, or at least her heart is always young. Some of the names used to describe her are photographer, designer, author, artist, baker, florist, painter, composer, or playwright.
As a strong individual, the ALL COMES FROM NOTHING woman is not victimized by fashion. Clothing does not place an identity on her; rather, her overall essence defines the style. Fashion is an accomplice, not her calling card.”
