Grand Hotel Park Gstaad launches new restaurant, Chubut

The Grand Hotel Park in Switzerland is delighted to announce the opening of new restaurant Chubut, a unique ‘Food & Fire’ culinary concept, located in the heart of Gstaad.

Inspired by the Chubut province in Patagonian Argentina, known as the ‘land of fire and living wind’, Chubut promises a masterful blend of taste and texture through its dedication to fine live fire cuisine. Chef Agustín Brañas takes guests on a remarkable culinary adventure, transporting them back to his grandmother’s house in Argentina, simultaneously evoking their own childhood memories. This sense of comfort and familiarity charms guests throughout the entire dining experience, from the personalised cutlery made in Argentina, the warm and personal service experienced to Chef Agustín making time for a chat with guest tables. Guests can even spot him preparing food live, on an open fire in the dining room.

Chubut’s delectable but uncomplicated menu promises something for everyone. The finest Argentinian cuts are served, with a selection of Swiss meats also available, paired with organic local produce. The simple but effective cooking style ensures the ‘ingredients are the main characters of every dish’, as Agustín prepares the meats using different facets of the fire.

The gastronomic experience at Chubut begins with a surprise cocktail and warm homemade bread and variety of butters. Starters include the likes of Empañadas filled with hand cut Argentine beef, red peppers, raisins, onion and cumin and braised and chargrilled sweetbreads with mashed sweet corn, potato and chimichurri. For main, choose from a selection of special cuts and Argentinian Black Angus Beef, such as Bife de Solomillo and Argentine Churrasco. Irresistible desserts on offer include childhood panqueques quemados – crepes filled with dulce de leche and banana ice cream and Grandma’s homemade flan with whipped cream and dulce de leche.

Chubut is a truly unique restaurant concept in Gstaad and is the latest addition to the Grand Hotel Park’s gourmet offerings. Chubut joins the Restaurant, serving modern Mediterranean delicacies, Chalet Waldhuus, a delightful wooden chalet, nestled in the hotel gardens serving local Swiss favourites, and the Gallery, an all-day dining restaurant, serving fresh and seasonal food. The hotel is also home to four bars. Afternoon tea is served in Library, while oysters, Champagne and cocktails are served in The Club Bar, as well as fresh sushi, prepared by one of the hotel’s three Sushi Masters.
