The Gucci Decor line which launches in September will feature tableware and candle holders by Gucci-owned heritage porcelain brand Richard Ginori, upholstered dining chairs, metal trays and folding tables, folding screens and highly decorative cushions.
Working with Florentine porcelain specialists Richard Ginori, originally founded in 1735, Creative Director Alessandro Michele has designed a range of patterned crockery featuring a green and white Herbarium decoration. There are also idiosyncratic candle holders, which display Gucci patterns, such as geometric chevrons and the talismanic “eye” design. Animals from the Gucci Garden – bees, butterflies and cockerel heads – are rendered in porcelain in 3D topping the lids of pots. Small incense holders feature 3D stag beetles and bees support incense sticks.
The collection includes scents bringing the range to life in the form of candles and incense. Inventum (a delicate note of ancient damask rose, blended with voluptuous and distinctive Taif rose); Fumus (the dark and intense scent of birch, mingled with that of orange leaves and beeswax); Herbosum (the fresh scents of tomato leaves and aromatic plants, mixed with the fragrance of long grass peppered with basil and lemongrass); and Esotericum (the bitter aroma of Seville oranges, intertwined with notes of jasmine, leather and salt).
Gucci Décor will be launched from September with a progressive global roll-out in Gucci flagship stores, online at gucci.com and selected specialty stores. Starting prices is £150 for a candle rising to £23,000 for a screen.
