The new Maserati Levante is the Italian brand’s first venture into the SUV segment and will debut at the 2016 Geneva International Motor Show, March 3 through 13. The Levante trail blazes a new path for the over 100-year-old automobile manufacturer, while maintaining the legacy of high-performance and lush aesthetic that the trident insignia has come to symbolize.
Designed to excel on multiple terrains with equal aplomb, the new SUV features an electronic suspension with air springs and controlled damping that can be adjusted to several settings, depending on conditions encountered. The premier power train also includes Maserati’s intelligent Q4 all-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic transmission. Further technical specifics have yet to be released save for the fact that the model will be available with standard and diesel engines.
Distinctive exterior detailing includes an aggressive front end with tandem tapered headlights—the upper section flowing into the iconic radiator grill. The flanks are festooned with the brand’s instantly recognizable triad of air vents and its “Saetta” logo emblazoned near the streamlined back.
